Paul and Katie Carmona ran the Park City Marathon (Utah) on August 25, 2007. Katie ran the half-marathon, Paul ran the marathon. According to Paul, the hardest part about this marathon - aside from training in Austin through June, July and August - was the elevation. The race started at about 6,300 ft. and climbed 878 ft. to approximately 7,200 ft. By comparison, the Austin Marathon climbs 304 ft., from about 700 to just over 800 feet above sea level! It was a beautiful course, with gorgeous weather (upper 40s at start, mid-70s at marathon finish) and a small field of runners. The Carmonas recommend this race for anyone who wants to try something different - but be warned about the altitude and climbing!
