Lucy Rojas Runs PR for 10K in Boston
TST Training Director Lucy Rojas ran in the Tufts 10K in Boston on Monday, October 8, 2007, along with over 7,000 women, 66 of whom were elite women. American Olympic marathoner Deena Castor won in 32:01.
Lucy reports that "it was a tough course with 60 degree temps and rain - 4 big hills and 3 hairpin turns. My goal was to break 40 minutes for the first time and I came in at 39:53 (6:26 pace) for 82nd overall. I was 18th in my age group of 1,300 women."
Lucy's mile splits were:
6:14 6:21 6:31 6:35 6:25 6:18 1:46 Lucy also adds that it was "inspirational...to run with so many women. There were 3 turn-around points where we ran towards the mass of other women and they were yelling such great things to motivate and push us harder! I feel really lucky to be helping the Twenty-Six Two group this year and know how the power of supporting each other as women makes such a huge difference."
CONGRATULATIONS TO LUCY!
